The Division of Colorectal Surgery’s many accomplishments are due primarily to the generosity of concerned individuals, foundations, corporations, and other grant-making associations and institutions. Our doctors, scientists, nurses and other professional staff share one goal: to enhance the care of patients with colorectal disorders. You can join our team by supporting our efforts. Your gift will make a difference.
With your support, we enhance and expand the Division’s comprehensive patient care, research, and education programs. Your contributions will benefit countless others by advancing research, technological innovations, and the education and training of tomorrow's leaders in the care of inflammatory bowel disease, colon and rectal cancer, diverticular disease and complex colorectal disease conditions.
Opportunities for giving include patient care programs, designated research projects, fellowships, and named professorships.
How To Make a Gift
Outright gifts made by check or credit card are fully tax-deductible as provided by law. Your support of the Colorectal Surgery Division can reduce your taxable income and lower your tax bill. When you give online, we will send a tax receipt to the email address you provide. For gifts sent to our office, we will send a tax receipt to you through the mail.
You can make a gift online and support the Colorectal Surgery Division. Please click here. Click the "Select a designation" drop down menu to select the fund you wish to support.

In lieu of flowers, many families request in obituaries that charitable gifts be made in memory of their loved one. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the program or initiative of your choice. The following language is suggested for obituaries: “In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of [name of deceased] to the Trustees of Columbia University, Colorectal Surgery Research, 630 West 168th Street, P&S 2-421, NY, NY 10032”
